How Do I Sign in to PlusSpec With a New Account, When an Existing/Old PlusSpec Account is Displaying?
Solution
Firstly, ensure you have an active license by heading to your Personal Billing Portal Here and checking your expiration/renewal date of the subscription.
Select your operating system below to jump to those instructions:
Windows: SketchUp 16 and below
Windows: SketchUp 17 and above
Windows: SketchUp 16 and Below
- Open a SketchUp model (make sure it’s the only one open)
- Go to the Help Tool (the last tool in the toolbar) and click on the License Info tab in the left menu
- Click Remove License, then click Yes in the prompt that appears
- Close SketchUp
- Open your Document Explorer
- Go to the address bar at the top and type %appdata%
- Go to the AppData folder (click on AppData in the address bar) then go to the Roaming folder
- Go to the SketchUp folder then go to the folder for your respective version of SketchUp (e.g. SketchUp 2016)
- Click the SketchUp folder and delete the cookiejar.xml file
- Launch a new SketchUp model
- Enter your PlusSpec login details on the PlusSpec Welcome Page and click Sign In
- Click Reset Machine on the desired subscription (if you have more than one)
- Click Go Back
- Then, click Use This button for the desired subscription (if you have more than one)
- Finally, close and reopen SketchUp.
Windows: SketchUp 17 and above
- Open a SketchUp model (make sure it’s the only one open)
- Go to the Help Tool (the last tool in the toolbar) and click on the License Info tab in the left menu
- Click Remove License, then click Yes in the prompt that appears
- Close SketchUp
- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to Tools (cog/gear icon) and select Internet Options
- Go to the Browsing history section under the General tab and select the Delete… button
- Tick Cookies and website data, then press Delete
- Click the Apply button then the OK button
- Launch a new SketchUp model
- Enter your PlusSpec login details on the PlusSpec Welcome Page and click Sign In
- Click Reset Machine on the desired subscription (if you have more than one)
- Click Go Back
- Then, click Use This button for the desired subscription (if you have more than one)
- Finally, close and reopen SketchUp.
Mac: Option 1
- Close all open SketchUp models
- Click on the Mac Go tab (ensure that you are not in any other program). Now that the Go tab is highlighted, hold down the option key (don’t let go). You will now see ‘Library’ in the menu options (under ‘Home’). Click on Library.
- Go to the Application Support folder, and then open the RubySketch folder and delete the license folder
- Launch a new SketchUp model
- Click Sign out on the PlusSpec Welcome page
- Enter your email address and password, then click Sign In
- Click the Activate/Reactivate button
- Close and reopen SketchUp.
Mac: Option 2
- Close all open SketchUp models
- Open a new Finder window, then open your username folder
- Open the Applications folder and then open the Library folder
- Go back to the Application Support folder, and then open the ruby sketch folder and delete the license folder
- Launch a new SketchUp model
- Click Sign out on the PlusSpec Welcome page
- Enter your email address and password, then click Sign In
- Click the Activate/Reactivate button
- Close and reopen SketchUp.
